WHEN RELAXATION IS REALLY NEEDED

There are times that are particularly challenging for us. Well-being is actually always a holistic state: if your mind and psyche are affected, this quickly affects your body. And vice versa. Your organism has the ability to cope with major stress in its own way and to quickly stabilize itself again. To support your individual healing powers, there are wonderful plants in the plant kingdom such as lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), also known as lemon balm, and roseroot (Rhodiola rosea). The ingredients of these popular plants help you to reduce stress and bring body, mind and soul into harmony.

GENTLE HERBS FOR BODY AND SOUL

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) has long been popular in folk medicine as a natural sedative. Its ingredients, especially rosmarinic acid, have relaxing, antispasmodic, calming, antibacterial and antiviral effects. The medicinal plant is traditionally used to bring the organism into balance - whether in cases of inner restlessness, irritability or nervous gastrointestinal complaints. Lemon balm applied externally is also considered an alternative to synthetic antiviral drugs for cold sores. Here too, the tannin-like rosmarinic acid plays an outstanding role.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MELISSA AND LEMON BALM?

When we hear the word melissa – as in melissa spirit, for example – we usually automatically mean lemon balm. It is a plant species from the larger genus of melissa plants, which in turn belong to the mint family. The word "melissa" comes from the Greek word for bee (melissa). In the past, melissa was planted directly in front of beehives, as the hardy plant was said to attract bees. The beehives were also rubbed with the plant's antiseptic juice.

RELIEVING STRESS SYMPTOMS

Even though research into the positive effects of Rhodiola rosea is far from complete, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) generally considers the use of Rhodiola rosea to be positive in terms of alleviating stress symptoms such as exhaustion and weakness.
