Payment methods at Medicom

PayPal and PayPal Express

When you shop at Medicom, you'll see the option for Express Checkout with PayPal directly below the red shopping cart button. You'll need a PayPal account to do this, or you can set one up during the payment process. If you click on this payment option, you'll be redirected directly to PayPal. Your shipping address and credit card number will be stored there. All you have to do is log in with your account and make the payment via PayPal. PayPal is generally fast and secure.

VISA and MasterCard – Payment by credit card

At Medicom, you can pay with both VISA and MasterCard credit cards. During the ordering process, you enter the cardholder, credit card number, expiration date, and card security number. The data is transmitted securely using SSL encryption. Your order and purchase are processed quickly and securely.

Important information for online payments by credit card

The European PSD2 Payment Directive makes online payments by credit card more secure! This is based on the second EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2). PSD2 has been in effect since September 14, 2019.

What is PSD2?

PSD2 (Payment Services Directive 2) is a European payment services directive introduced to make online payments more secure. Your bank may ask you to verify your identity using the 3D Secure process when making an online credit card payment.

How does payment by credit card work?

When placing an order in Europe, you may be redirected to your bank's 3D Secure page. There are several ways to authenticate online payments – you may be asked to confirm your identity via SMS, email, or TouchID. Once your payment has been authenticated and the order is complete, you will be redirected back to the Medicom shop page where you will see an order confirmation. We will also send you an email confirming your order.

How does the bank confirm your identity?

If you contact your bank, they will explain the 3D Secure authentication process. Check that your bank has the correct contact details so you can receive an authentication text message or email.
What to do if you cannot complete your order?
If anything went wrong during the ordering process, please contact our customer service by phone or directly via the in-store chat. Our staff will be happy to process your order.

Invoice from 2nd order

If you're a registered customer and making a second purchase from Medicom, you'll have the option to pay by invoice. On the day the ordered goods leave our warehouse, you'll receive an invoice with our bank details via email. You pay within 14 days without any deductions. As a registered customer with a customer account in the Medicom shop, you can also view, download, or print the invoice online in your customer account at any time.

SOFORT Transfer

SOFORT Überweisung is a TÜV-certified online banking system that requires you to enter a PIN and TAN number. SOFORT Überweisung is also convenient for you as an online shopper. With this payment method, you don't need to register as a customer or provide a credit card number. You simply need an online banking account. For SOFORT Überweisung with Klarna, Medicom uses the payment service provider PayOne (more information in our privacy policy). If you choose this payment method, after all order information has been verified via PayOne, you will be redirected to the external payment pages of the service provider Klarna. There, you fill out an online transfer form, providing your bank sort code and login details. You authorize the payment transaction with a TAN number. The data is forwarded via an encrypted transmission. Medicom then immediately receives a confirmation message that the transfer has been completed.
