Chickpeas are a plant-based source of protein and contain valuable minerals and dietary fiber. Chickpeas are an essential part of vegan cuisine. If you don't eat many legumes, hummus is a quick and easy solution for you. The advantage: hummus is a versatile all-rounder and goes well with fish, meat, and vegetables alike. A fantastic accompaniment.
Ingredients – 2 servings
• 1 jar organic chickpeas with the liquid • Garlic cloves to taste • 2 tbsp tahini (organic sesame paste) • ¼ tsp cumin • Juice of 1 organic lemon • 2 tbsp olive oil • Salt, pepper to taste • Finely chopped parsley or cilantro for garnish • If desired, the contents of one Medicom turmeric capsule
Preparation:
It's quick and easy with a blender. Simply place all ingredients – except for the olive oil – into the blender and process. The result should be a creamy purée. Place the hummus in the refrigerator. Before serving, stir in the two tablespoons of olive oil and season to taste if necessary. If you want to give your hummus an explosive color and a spicy note, add the contents of one Medicom turmeric capsule as a splash of color or simply stir in the turmeric powder.
Tip:
Hummus tastes especially good with vegetable sticks. Carrots, cucumbers, celery stalks, bell peppers, kohlrabi, or broccoli florets are all suitable for this.
