Nobilin Krill Oil® Omega 3 Plus - Detailed information

THE NEXT OMEGA-3 GENERATION

It's long been known how important the intake of unsaturated fatty acids is for our bodies and that omega-3 fatty acids are particularly high in quality. Less well known are the benefits offered by omega-3 fatty acids extracted from krill oil.

Omega-3 fatty acids are so-called unsaturated compounds and form a subgroup within the omega-3 fatty acids family. These are vital substances that cannot be produced by the body and must therefore be ingested through food. Omega-3 fatty acids serve as essential building blocks of cell membranes and tissue hormones. They also promote blood circulation, strengthen your memory and joint mobility, and have anti-inflammatory effects.

THE BENEFITS OF KRILL OIL

1. Advantage: High-quality Omega 3 from pure waters

Pure krill oil is extracted from Antarctic krill (small shrimp-like crustaceans) and painstakingly processed directly on board a unique, high-tech fishing vessel. This preserves its valuable ingredients: the particularly high-quality long-chain omega-3 fatty acids with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), phospholipids, and the naturally occurring astaxanthin, which further protects your body from free radicals. The Antarctic waters – the habitat of krill – are among the cleanest in the world.

2. Advantage: Particularly high usability

Krill oil has a special property that conventional fish oils lack: The omega-3 fatty acids are bound to phospholipids. Krill oil therefore binds quickly and easily with water. This makes them even better absorbed by the body than the fatty acids from fish oil.

3. Advantage: No “fishy” burping

The high water solubility is also the reason why you might burp when taking fish oil and experience a fishy taste in your mouth. This is different with this product, because krill oil dissolves completely in water and in the stomach.

4. Advantage: Novel capsule

Valuable ingredients must be well protected. For this reason, Medicom offers krill oil in the innovative Licaps® capsule, because only this innovative dosage form preserves the properties of freshly caught, pure krill oil over time. The two-component technology hermetically seals the capsule, giving it maximum protection against leakage. Only with the new Licaps® capsule does the krill's natural odor remain airtight and safely enclosed. Krill oil in Licaps® capsules is a pure marine product with no artificial additives. It is made exclusively from fish gelatin, contains no additives, and is ideal for health-conscious people who value a natural diet.

5. Advantage: Medicom uses only krill oil from Aker BioMarineTM

This company is committed to the highest environmental standards and sustainable fishing to protect the ecosystem and ensure the preservation of krill stocks. Our supplier is certified according to the guidelines of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Our collaboration with WWF Norway ensures compliance with this promise.

Nobilin Krill Oil® Omega 3 Plus contains 500 milligrams of pure krill oil per capsule. This includes 200 mg of marine phospholipids, 120 mg of omega-3 fatty acids (with 62 mg EPA and 33 mg DHA), and 50 µg of astaxanthin. Treat yourself to pure krill oil, one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Good to know: Since krill is at the top of the food chain, these tiny crustaceans are least contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or other pollutants.

We avoid deodorizing our krill oil using complex chemical-synthetic processes and leave the krill oil in its natural form. Please consult your doctor before using it concurrently with coumarin anticoagulants.

KRILL OIL: 100% PURE NATURAL PRODUCT

The word krill refers to shrimp-like crustaceans that live in the sea and are part of the plankton. The word comes from Norwegian and is said to be derived from the Dutch word kriel (“a small thing”). There are over 80 species of krill worldwide. However, the high-quality Nobilin Krill Oil® Omega 3 Plus is only obtained from the best-known species – the Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba). Krill is at the top of the food chain and is not contaminated by any kind of pollution. The oil extracted from Superba krill is a particularly valuable source of the long-chain omega-3 fatty acids (docosahexaenoic acid), DHA, and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Unlike in fish oil, these fatty acids in krill oil are not bound to triglycerides but primarily to phospholipids – natural substances that also make up our cell membranes. Binding to phospholipids increases the bioavailability of omega-3 fatty acids, as they are distributed much better in water and can be better absorbed by the body.

Its exceptionally high content of astaxanthin makes krill a small miracle of nature: This highly valuable red pigment, which is only found in crustaceans, has an antioxidant effect and can protect human cells from damage caused by free radicals.

OMEGA-3 FROM KRILL OIL AGAINST LDL CHOLESTEROL

In 2004, scientists from the University of Montreal, McGill University, and the Riverview Medical Centre in Montreal investigated the effect of Neptune krill oil on elevated cholesterol levels. The researchers divided 120 people with elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels into four groups: Group A received 2-3 grams of krill oil daily (depending on BMI), Group B only 1-1.5 grams, Group C 3 grams of fish oil, and Group D a placebo. The results of the three-month study were published in Alternative Medicine Review (Volume 9, Number 4, 2004): Taking krill oil showed by far the greatest effect:

LDL (the "bad" cholesterol): decreased by an average of 32%
HDL (the "good" cholesterol): increased by an average of 44%
Triglycerides: decreased by an average of 11%

In group A, blood lipid levels even fell by 37 percent within 90 days, while the “fish oil group” achieved a much less impressive result of only 5 percent.

PROTECTION FOR YOUR HEART

Omega-3 fatty acids have many positive effects on your body. For example, they influence the synthesis of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins and thus provide excellent protection for your heart. Numerous studies support the assumption that omega-3 fatty acids are the most effective fatty acid group for the prevention of coronary heart disease (CHD), and that adequate intake also reduces overall mortality. This is one of the main reasons why the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends at least 1-2 fish meals per week. The consumption of deep-sea fish is particularly recommended. The long-chain omega-3 fatty acids they contain, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are particularly important for your health. If you don't like fish or want to supplement your diet with high-quality omega-3 fatty acids, you can find them in Nobilin Krill Oil® Omega 3 Plus.
