The word krill refers to shrimp-like crustaceans that live in the sea and are part of the plankton. The word comes from Norwegian and is said to have come from the Dutch kriel (“a small thing”). There are over 80 species of krill worldwide. In 2004, scientists from the University of Montreal , the McGill University and the Riverview Medical Centre in Montreal the influence of Neptune Krill Oil on elevated cholesterol levels.
