DOUBLE POWER FOR THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM
A healthy cardiovascular system is a crucial prerequisite for physical and mental fitness, for vitality and well-being. Maintain the strength of a strongly pumping heart and freely flowing blood. Garlic and hawthorn support you in this. The balanced composition of secondary plant substances, vitamins and minerals that occur naturally in the two medicinal plants have a positive effect on your blood vessels and your blood lipid levels and help you prevent arteriosclerosis.
PREVENT ARTIFICIAL CALCIFICATION: LOTS OF EXERCISE AND THE RIGHT NUTRIENTS
Arteriosclerosis is caused by the build-up of fat and calcium on the walls of the vessels. Once a certain amount of plaque has been deposited , your vessels lose their elasticity, their diameter shrinks and your blood no longer flows freely. The result is circulatory problems, which can lead to heart failure, strokes and heart attacks. In order to prevent such dangerous arteriosclerosis , a healthy lifestyle with plenty of exercise and a healthy diet with little animal fat is helpful. The active ingredients in garlic and hawthorn also help. They expand your blood vessels and prevent blood platelets from sticking together. This allows your blood to flow freely. The combination of active ingredients in Medicom's garlic-hawthorn capsules also reduces the amount of blood fat in the body and thus the risk of deposits.
TWO MEDICINAL PLANTS FOR HEALTHY BLOOD CIRCULATION
The bulbs of the garlic bulb have played a role in the healing arts for thousands of years. They were used to prevent age-related vascular changes, to improve blood flow properties and to support disorders of blood lipid levels. The ingredients contained in garlic - especially allicin - as well as the mixture of amino acids, secondary plant substances and selenium have positive effects on the heart. The ingredients of the hawthorn fruit (Crataegi fructus) contain valuable secondary plant substances (oligomeric procyanidins). They are said to have heart-strengthening properties such as supporting cardiac muscle strength and blood circulation as well as regulating blood pressure. The extract from the hawthorn fruit is, alongside garlic, a classic for naturally strengthening the heart muscle and cardiovascular system and has already been used in traditional Chinese medicine. The recommended daily dose of two soft gel capsules provides you with 200 mg of powder from the garlic bulb and 100 mg of extract from the hawthorn fruit. Use this valuable herbal dietary supplement and the double power of its natural active ingredients for a healthy heart and good blood circulation.
DOUBLE POWER FROM NATURE: GARLIC & HAWTHROWER
Garlic ( Allium sativum ) is an allium plant. It came from the steppes of Central and South Asia across the Mediterranean to Europe and thrives there as a cultivated plant. The wild type is considered extinct. Common garlic is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of between 30 and 90 centimeters. Garlic bulbs are so-called perennial organs. These are specific structures on plants that allow them to adapt to unfavorable climatic conditions and, for example, survive periods of long drought.
Garlic contains a number of medicinally interesting ingredients. In addition to vitamins and trace elements such as selenium, it is mainly allicin - a conversion product of the amino acid alliin - that gives garlic some of its typical properties. Allicin protects garlic with its antibacterial effect and was used as a substitute antibiotic in the Second World War.
A number of studies have shown that the ingredients in garlic can lower blood lipid levels and prevent arteriosclerotic changes in the blood vessels. Although a reduction in harmful LDL cholesterol could not be proven, However, meta-analyses have shown that regular consumption of garlic significantly lowers overall cholesterol levels.
Refined rapeseed oil is often used as an extraction agent to produce garlic extract. The amount of garlic powder in each product is usually stated on the package insert.
GARLIC – THE JACK OF ALL TRADS
It was not without reason that garlic was chosen as medicinal plant of the year in 1989, because what the inhabitants of the Mediterranean have known since ancient times is now confirmed by many scientific studies: daily consumption of garlic keeps us healthy.
In addition to potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc, it is mainly its sulphur-containing compounds that make our Cardiovascular system have a positive effect: blood pressure and blood fat levels are lowered, blood circulation is improved, and the antioxidant effect protects against cell decay and tissue damage by capturing free radicals. Recent studies even indicate that eating garlic and onions - albeit large amounts - reduces the risk of developing ovarian cancer. In addition, it has antibacterial, disinfectant, antispasmodic, secretion-increasing effects, kills fungi in the intestines, helps with constipation and diarrhea, strengthens our immune system, you can even get rid of warts with it and, and, and... Garlic - a real all-rounder for our health!
If you are bothered by the smell, which unfortunately cannot be avoided, you can drink milk and chew parsley to "neutralize" it, or try our reader Hildegard Löw's tip: garlic drink! Here is the recipe for this natural health remedy: Cut four to five unsprayed lemons into small pieces with the peel and put them in a blender together with 30 peeled garlic cloves and 1.5 liters of mineral water (non-carbonated). Mix everything well and then heat in a pan. Just before boiling, remove the pan from the stove and allow to cool. Finally, pass through a sieve, fill into glass bottles and store in the refrigerator. Drink a small glass regularly every morning and you will stay healthy without smelling of garlic - assures our Medicom reader Hildegard Löw. Many thanks for this health tip after Ostrach.ls used remedy for middle ear infections and impotence.
HAWTHORN: THE CLASSIC OF NATURAL MEDICINE
The Hawthorns (Crataegus) are shrubs or small trees and belong to the genus of pome fruit plants ( Pyrinae ) within the rose family ( Rosaceae ). In temperate climates, there are 200 to 300 species that easily mix with each other, making it difficult to identify them clearly.
Hawthorn plays a role in several myths and rituals. Large hawthorn plants were planted as hedge borders and were considered to be a defense against evil spirits and protection against witchcraft. The fruits and flowering branches of hawthorn have been part of traditional Chinese medicine since ancient times. The indigenous peoples of America also used hawthorn components as a medicinal remedy. In European culture, the medicinal properties of hawthorn plants were first mentioned by Pedanios Dioscurdies, a Greek doctor, in the 1st century AD.
The active ingredients in hawthorn include oligomeric procyanidins, glycosidic flavones and flavinols, and tannins. Hawthorn increases the heart's contractile force and expands the blood vessels. This improves the supply of oxygen to the heart muscle. Heart diseases such as heart attacks or angina pectoris, which are caused by circulatory disorders, can be prevented by taking hawthorn extracts. This effect is similar to that of ACE inhibitors, but occurs with a delay and without side effects.
Preparations in liquid form or as powder in capsules often combine garlic and hawthorn (and sometimes mistletoe) for a strong heart and good blood circulation to protect against arteriosclerosis and the resulting cardiovascular diseases.
HEART FRIEND HAWTHORN
When in bloom, hawthorn bushes or trees look as if they were covered in snow. The magnificent white flowers, together with the sharp thorns on the branches, give the hawthorn its name. But the bush is not only pleasing to the eye: since the 19th century, the ingredients of hawthorn have been among the most effective natural medicines. Hawthorn is used to strengthen the still healthy, aging heart and to treat mild to severe ailments.
HAWTHROWN MAKES HEARTS BEAT STRONGER
Archaeological finds have proven that hawthorn fruits were part of the diet even in the times of our ancestors. The plant was first described as a medicine in 973 by the most famous pharmacologist of antiquity, the Greek doctor Pedanius Dioscorides. However, its true significance as a well-tolerated heart and circulatory remedy that does not cause any disturbing side effects even with long-term use was only discovered by American doctors towards the end of the last century.
The hawthorn is also called the whitethorn bush and - because of its thorns - the mealthorn or hawthorn. Because you can also bake bread with the red fruits, it is also called miller's bread. Its Latin name is Crataegus laevigata; it belongs to the Rosacea family, the rose family. In the countryside, the pretty shrub is often found as a path border, and in gardens the versatile plant serves as an ornamental bush. When it flowers, the hawthorn bears delicate white flowers; its fruits are bright red. It grows densely and upright up to a height of five meters as a bush or small tree. You can prepare it yourself as a tea or pressed juice or buy it in various forms as a preparation.
Its most important effect is to strengthen the heart, but it also works against high blood pressure and headaches. It helps with inflammation and circulatory problems, restores performance problems and provides restful sleep. This herb is also effective against sensitivity to the weather. Its fruits can stop diarrhea, and the bark has a fever-reducing effect. Hawthorn is also used to treat nervous cramps, arteriosclerosis, angina pectoris and obesity.
