In Ayurveda, Amla, also known as the Indian gooseberry, is highly valued, as the fruit is used for various health and beauty remedies. This small berry is an excellent source of antioxidants.
It provides vitamin C and polyphenols, which are good for the skin, among other things, as they help the body fight free radicals, supporting a youthful glow. Therefore, the entire organism benefits from Amla. We have prepared three very simple applications in the form of face masks and scrubs for you to also care for your skin externally.
1. Soothing Face Mask – Amla and Papaya
Both Amla and papaya work together to cleanse the skin and reduce pigmentation. Mix one tablespoon of Amla berry powder with one tablespoon of water to create a juice. Add two tablespoons of mashed papaya and mix. Apply to the face with a cotton pad and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with cold water and repeat every other day for two weeks to achieve visible results.
2. Face Mask – Amla, Yogurt, and Honey
In many old home remedies, Amla was used to improve skin tone. Take two tablespoons of Amla berry powder, one tablespoon of yogurt, and one teaspoon of honey and mix everything well. Apply evenly to your face and neck and let it dry for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water and pat dry.
3. Skin Scrub – Amla, Sugar, and Rose Water
Exfoliate your skin with Amla to keep pimples and acne at bay. To do this, mix half a cup of Amla berry powder with half a cup of granulated sugar and one tablespoon of rose water. Gently rub it into your skin until it is slightly flushed. Wash off with cold water.
