Dietary fibers: Staying full longer
It sounds almost too good to be true, but: If you want to lose weight, you have to eat until you are full. And this is best achieved with foods that contain plenty of natural dietary fiber – especially fresh fruit and vegetables, whole-grain products like bread or muesli, potatoes, natural rice, and healthy legumes. On the way to your desired figure, dietary fibers are the best companions: they solve several problems that can arise when trying to lose weight.
1. They keep you full for a long time
2. They prevent uncontrolled food cravings
3. They naturally stimulate bowel activity
Furthermore, most dietary fibers have a low energy density: this describes the ratio of calories per gram to the quantity of a food. While a white flour roll, for example, has a high energy density and—experience shows—does not keep you full for long as breakfast, whole-grain bread is the better alternative for your figure: it has high volume, dietary fibers that largely remain undigested, all while being low in calories.
Especially important for good digestion, however, is a balanced fluid intake: At least two to three liters of water daily promote bowel movement and prevent the body from dehydrating. Anyone who cannot manage this daily amount should ideally consume dietary fiber in soluble form.
Dietary fibers: Preventing food cravings
Lowering the glycemic index (GI), also called the "Glyx value," also plays a major role when trying to lose weight. Who doesn't know the typical cravings that arise when blood sugar levels bottom out? Dietary fibers are able to ensure that less insulin is released, which leads to a gentler drop in blood sugar after meals.

Feeling of satiety sets in earlier
In diets, the high swelling capacity of soluble dietary fibers plays an important role, as they increase the volume of the chyme in the stomach. You feel full sooner and for longer, making it easier to stick to fasting days. The binding of water creates a gel layer that separates the contents of the intestine from the mucous membrane. Particularly high-energy fats and carbohydrates are absorbed less effectively. This is ultimately noticeable in your overall calorie intake. And at the end of the day, on the scale.
Dietary fiber source: Glucomannan
A special source of dietary fiber is glucomannan. The dietary fiber glucomannan is extracted from the flour of the konjac root. The Asian konjac plant, whose root is used, is also called the "devil's tongue" (Amorphophallus konjac). The flour of the konjac root is used in Asia similarly to starch flour here, for example in the production of glass noodles.
It consists of 80 percent indigestible carbohydrates. This is the real trick of this special plant: in addition to its low carbohydrate density, the glucomannan extracted from it has an above-average water-binding capacity. Taken with sufficient water half an hour before a meal, it swells to a large volume in the stomach. By swelling in the stomach, the feeling of satiety sets in faster and lasts longer. And that leads to simply eating less.
A multitude of scientific studies now confirm the clear effectiveness of glucomannan, such as a randomized study(1) from Norway with 176 overweight individuals. In contrast to other diet products, a significant correlation between the intake of glucomannan and weight loss was confirmed here.
Matcha: Drink tea in a relaxed way and get slim
Green tea has long been considered a figure-friendly drink. A particularly valuable variety is now reaching us from Japan: Matcha tea. The green tea powder is ideal for controlling body weight in a natural way due to its high-quality ingredients. This is now even appreciated in Hollywood.
In addition to many vitamins such as A, B, C, and E, the special green tea contains chlorophyll, mildly stimulating caffeine, and so-called catechins. Catechins ensure that less fat is absorbed in the intestine. This was shown by a study at the Berlin Charité. Unlike ordinary green tea varieties, Matcha uses only the extract of the shaded tea leaf. The valuable ingredients are therefore present in a higher concentration and show a correspondingly higher effectiveness.
Whole-food nutrition: "low carb" instead of "no carb"
Cutting carbohydrates from your diet completely makes no sense at all. On the contrary. However, for a feel-good figure, it is important to avoid so-called "empty" and "simple" carbohydrates. Therefore, replace products made of white flour, refined sugar, pasta, or rice more often with whole-food nutrition. This also includes legumes such as peas, lentils, and beans. They are indispensable for a protein- and fiber-rich diet. Beans are true protein bombs. Proteins are important for muscle building, firm connective tissue, a healthy immune system, and a balanced hormone metabolism.
White kidney bean blocks carbohydrates
However, beans do not only have a high protein content. They contain much more: the white kidney bean is a natural carbohydrate blocker and blocks the enzyme alpha-amylase, which converts the essentially indigestible, complex carbohydrates into glucose that the body can use. This way, the body can no longer utilize all the carbohydrates from the food—studies have shown that you can consume up to a quarter fewer calories this way. That means easier weight loss without restricting yourself too much when eating.
Prickly pear: the natural fat burner
Fibers from the prickly pear block fats from food. The prickly pear ensures that the body can no longer store part of the dietary fats in fat deposits on the hips, stomach, legs, and buttocks, but rather excretes them undigested. The insoluble fibers of the prickly pear plant, valued for centuries, bind up to 27 percent of dietary fats in the stomach. The soluble fibers of the prickly pear form a gel that encloses this fat-fiber complex. This not only prevents fat storage but also increases the feeling of satiety.
